①. Determine the measurement starting point: Align the zero scale line of the steel tape measure with one end of the object being measured. If the head ring of the steel tape measure is worn or deformed, in order to ensure measurement accuracy, you can also choose to start measuring from a full scale line on the steel tape measure, starting from 80cm, and then subtract this starting scale value from the final reading.
②. Read integer and decimal parts: Observe the scale line aligned with the other end of the measured object on the steel tape measure. First, read the whole centimeter number, which is 80-73=7cm. After determining the integer centimeter scale, then check the millimeter scale corresponding to the end of the object, which is 2mm=0.2cm.
